What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced RAY-key) is a combination of the Japanese words rei (spirit), and ki (energy). It is usually translated as 'universal life force energy.' This holistic energy healing and balancing therapy is gentle and non-invasive, yet yields powerful results for the body, mind and spirit. Reiki works when a practitioner sets an intention to facilitate the healing process of a client and allows the energy to flow in whatever amount is required and for whatever is needed most.

Reiki for People

Reiki is performed fully clothed, and provides stress relief and deep relaxation, among other benefits. Reiki works for the highest good, and can never harm. It is ideal for pre- and post-operative patients to support the healing process, and can be administered in hospitals or hospices for patients with serious illnesses, in comatose states, or facing an end-of-life transition.

Reiki can:

  • Bring relief to a grieving heart

  • Accelerate and strengthen the healing process

  • Calm a racing mind

  • Instill affirmations and positive thoughts

Reiki for Animals

Reiki is ideal for use with animals, since its effectiveness is not dependent upon physical contact. The animal controls the treatment, accepting Reiki in whatever way is most comfortable, either hands-on or from a distance, or a combination of the two. It doesn't cause stress, discomfort or pain, all while generating remarkable results. Animals respond intuitively to Reiki's power to heal physical, mental, emotional and spiritual conditions.

For animals who are healthy, Reiki helps to maintain their health, enhances relaxation and provides a sense of peace and contentment. For animals who are ill, Reiki is a wonderful healing method as well as a safe complement to all other forms of healing. For example, Reiki can reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, support an acupuncture treatment or enhance the effects of flower essences. For animals who are dying, Reiki can provide comfort, relief from pain, fear and anxiety, and ease their transition into the afterlife.

Reiki can benefit objects, events and situations, as well — the possibilities are limitless.

About Source Reiki

Michelle N. Remeny

Reiki Master and Intuitive Healer
Founder of Source Reiki

Based in Newton, Massachusetts, Michelle Remeny is continually learning and applying new and alternative energy concepts and techniques on herself and willing clients. By remaining grounded, open, and intuitive, she customizes healing sessions to best suit each client, situation, and environment. She connects strongly to people in the creative arts, and highly recommends those pursuits, along with connecting to nature, for reconnection to the Self.

Michelle has been practicing mindfulness since 1995, and strives to bring love, compassion, and positivity to everyone in her path. Starting her career as a graphic designer and later moving into web design, interior design, and project management, Michelle lived a typical corporate existence, which eventually proved to be unsustainable. She encountered Reiki in 2005 after a serious injury, and has since delighted in the results of incorporating the Reiki precepts and practice into her life.

Surrendering to and living in the flow of Reiki has brought great changes in tremendous ways, allowing Michelle to recreate her life and bring her Reiki practice to the forefront in 2013. Her experience with mental and emotional balance issues, shadow work, manifesting miracles, and clearing the path for recovery from abuse can be especially helpful for her clients. She strives for fluidity and balance in her healing sessions as well as in life.

In addition to working with people and pets, Michelle has been honored to bring Reiki to the livestock and land at the Natick Community Organic Farm in Natick, Massachusetts.
